MOTION TO EXTEND TIMELINE FOR DUE PROCESS HEARING DECISION
COMES NOW [Parent] on behalf of [Student] in the above-captioned matter, through counsel, and respectfully moves that the current timeline to mail the decision in this due process proceeding be extended from [Original Date] to [New Date]. State and federal special education regulations authorize specific extensions of this timeline at the request of either party. 34 C.F.R. § 300.515(c); Louisiana Bulletin 1706 § 515(B). In this case, an extension is needed to accommodate the scheduling of meetings that have been set in an attempt to resolve the matter through settlement as well as the scheduling of other pre-hearing conferences and deadlines. Upon information and belief, counsel for each respondent is aware of the proposed new timeline and does not object to the extension.
WHEREFORE, [Parent] on behalf of [Student] moves that the timeline for the mailing of a due process hearing decision in this matter be extended until [New Date].
